NEW SERVICOM / ETL LOGISTIC HUB

Servicom (ETL Group) will open up a new logistic center in Andalusia, due to the increase of its collections in the area

The boost of its fruit and vegetable groupage activity for large distribution chains led Servicios Combinados de Logística y Distribución S.L. (Servicom) to build a new central platform in Alzira (Valencia). Now, the increase in its loads in Andalusia – another of the company's growth areas – will motivate the incorporation of a new plant in Andalusia by the company, which operates under the brand name “Servi*com”.

The new facility will be located at Mercagranada, where Servicom took over a 1,000 m2 warehouse in 2021. The future plant will have 1,500 m2 and will be built by the company that owns the food unit (“Mercados Centrales de Abastecimiento de Granada”). "It will be operational by the end of 2024. The project is due to the increase in the transport flows. From Granada, we deliver in the central and northern areas of Spain with merchandise from Andalusia. For the time being, we are maintaining the initial plant in Mercagranada," says Eduardo Rovira, General Manager of Servicom, which also uses two facilities in Mercasevilla, one of which was added at the end of 2022.

Therefore, if it does not close its current Mercagranada facility within a year, the company will have five warehouses – in three different locations (Valencia, Seville and Granada) – with a total of 16,500 m2. Of the current surface area (15,000 m2), a total of 12,000 m2 correspond to the Alzira (Valencia) platform, which includes 5,000 m2 of refrigerated chambers and an area of 1,000 m2 for dry goods.

The company – co-owned by the Anecoop cooperative group and the Rovira family – and fully dedicated to fruit and vegetable, achieved its highest revenue boost in the 2022/2023 financial year (concluded in September), going from €20.66 million to €38 million. For this new campaign, which, in general terms, has started with lower volumes in Spain, the company expects a 13% increase in turnover and revenues of €43 million.

"This substantial growth is due to the increased activity of our main customers," says Eduardo Rovira. In the Servicom customer portfolio, Consum, Carrefour, Alcampo, Hermanos Martín, Lider Aliment, Bonpreu and masymas stand out.

Servicom directs its traffic, 86% of which is carried out in groupage and 14% in full loads, to Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, Perpignan (France) and Germany. Part of this international operation is carried out under the business unit Europe Transport Logistic (ETL), 7.14% owned by Servicom and 8.29% by Rovitrans Inter, the latter 100% owned by the Rovira family.
